Hi ladies! I didn’t see a thread for the video – my apologies if I am starting something we already have going!
As I was considering my example, I reminded myself that when I started my business, it did not occur to me that it would fail. I wondered how it would evolve and had fears around how to create my new identify and behaviors as a businesswoman, but the thought that it would fail didn’t have a voice. In fact, as I spoke to folks about it when I was beginning the biz, I had a few people seek to counsel me about what they presumed was a fear of mine – that it would fail. I recall in particular a conversation in which I tried to gently redirect a kind human who was trying to help me, and found it difficult to express that she was not addressing a fear I had – and trying to redirect without sounding either defensive or foolish – it was in that conversation that I realized I didn’t believe it would be anything but successful. (I wasn’t sure what I meant by “successful” in the beginning, but I knew it would be.). Now, looking back, I believe this to be an example of Martha’s concept.
Sidenote – has anyone ready “Untamed” by Glennon Doyle? She has a similar concept she refers to as the Knowing. I don’t know if it is the same-same, but similar, maybe.
Hope you are all well!
